It takes a village to save a duck in distress. On Sunday, April 10, East Pierce firefighters were asked to assist with removing ducklings from a storm drain in Milton. It was a group effort. Employees from the nearby Auto Zone loaned a wrench needed to access the grate. A helpful neighbor provided a colander that the firefighters taped to a long pole that they used to scoop the ducklings out. Thanks to this group effort, a dozen ducklings were successfully rescued and returned to their mother.
