Eastside Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund Provides Water Safety Program
King | 05/08/17
The Eastside Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund has launched a new program aimed at water safety in our area. The first of many life jacket loaner stations was built at The lake Sammamish boat launch.
This program is in place all over the country, but not in east King County. The idea is that if someone is in need of a PFD they take one off the rack and return it when done.
An organization called the Paris White Foundation has donated all of the life jackets for the stations. We have also received a grant from Children’s Hospital to help pay for the signs. Each station will have 12 jackets of various sizes infant to adult.
The next two stations will be built at both swim beaches at Lake Sammamish State Park.
We will accept donations of new life jackets. Please forward to Station 72, 1575 NW Maple St, Issaquah, WA 98027.
