East Pierce Fire Fighters will receive body armor for escalated threat response. Fire Commissioners approved the purchase of 32 individual body armor jackets for $76,000 to protect fire fighters responding to active violent events.

Eastside Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund Provides Water Safety Program

The Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund has launched a new water safety program in east King County. The first of many loaner stations has been constructed at the Lake Sammamish boat launch, and life jackets have been donated by the Paris White Foundation. Each station will have 12 jackets in varying sizes available for the public to borrow and return to the loaner station.

Pierce County Professional Firefighters accepted the 1st place overall local fundraising award today at the 2017 Washington State Council of Firefighters Education Seminar.
